West Kirby Marine Lake
Although I've written lots of stories about the walkway around West Kirby's Marine Lake, I'd never actually walked along it until last weekend.

As I'm sure you all know the lake has been closed since March for repairs because its outer wall, an attraction for thousands of walkers, was crumbling.
There had been concerns that rising sea-levels, increasing stormy weather and the increasing age of the outer wall could accelerate the rate of deterioration.
But now thanks to a £750,000 refurbishment it's open again and I happened to visit West Kirby with my boyfriend on the day of its unveiling.
Jon and I walked around the entire lake, which was really lovely.
There were so many other people strolling along the water's edge too and quite a few people in the lake itself windsurfing and rowing boats.
The tide was actually out at the time so I would love to walk along the wall when the tide was in because it would be a little bit like walking on water.

I've never been to Marine lake, and I probably never will but it's great that an investment has been made to preserve it.
Only Jesus can walk on water.
