Arrowe Park Hospital swine flu update
Wow it really is all about swine flu this week in Wirral.

My friend did have swine flu after all and was really upset because she'd been left without a test or any medication for five days, since her symptoms started.
She'd come into contact with a man she worked with at Arrowe Park Hospital who was coughing in work, he then went off sick and she followed a few days later.
According to my friend this man had contracted the disease from somebody who had recently travelled abroad.
Both my friend and her colleague were off sick but the man was treated and returned back to work symptom free while my poor friend was coughing and sneezing for almost an entire week before she even got tested.
It's safe to say her and her partner were really annoyed at the way they'd been treated, however The Health Protection Agency said all the correct clinical decisions had been made.
I don't agree with this at all because she rang the correct phone numbers, and told her doctor she had symptoms and had been in contact with a confirmed case - so I don't know what more she needed to do to get a test and treatment.
Well fortunately my friend is on the mend and the man who she works with is mended.
Apparently anyone who come into contact with them while they had symptoms has been treated and there should be no worry about the infection spreading further.
I'm keeping a look out on the website to check if there have been any more confirmed cases in the North West over the past few days and there haven't, which is good.
Like I said in my previous blog, there is no way of knowing how many of the 43 confirmed cases in the North West are in Wirral unless the individuals affected tell us.
So if you have been affected by this disease give me a call on 0151 330 5048.

I pray to all the gods that I will not contract swine flu.
I don't know anyone directly affected by swine flu but I read on the news that it is contagious so keep safe!!!
