Michael Jackson's death
It's totally shocking and when I heard, the death of Princess Diana and September 11 came to my mind.
Michael dying is one of those major events, like those above, that will always be remembered.
His death jarred normality for a few moments and reminded people that no one is invincible or immortal, no matter how famous they are.
Like Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson will be remembered for living an unbelievably famous life, touching a lot of people with his music and dying young.
I really liked him and I never made my mind up regarding the allegations against him.
It certainly seemed at times like he lived in a different world to me and even though he seemed affected and confused, I've always thought he strived to be a good person.
I remember going to Margarita when I was 21 and reading his biography by the side of the pool. I was gripped the entire time by his story and fell in love with him a little bit because he came across as being so vulnerable and tender.
I have also been a huge fan of his music my entire life and over the years have purchased many of his albums including one by the Jackson 5.
My life, like many others, won't be too affected by his death - I haven't got tickets to see his concert and even if he had lived until he was 100 years old, I probably would never have met him.
However I find it deeply sad for his family, especially his children, and his friends.
Michael's death has reminded me to take nothing for granted because anything could happen.

Michael Jackson was a poor, misguided fool in life and probably in death too.
I'm not sure about the allegations against him but it's safe to say he did have an unusual relationship with kids.
My thoughts are with his fans, family and children.
My first thought was "No way, he's faked his death to get out of those concerts!"
But cynicism aside, R.I.P Jacko, and what an incredible musical legacy he's left.
I nice Michael Jackson he good performer and touch us all.
May he rest in piece.
I also agree about not quite making my mind up regarding the allegations as media today aspires to strip celebrities of alot if not all of their dignity. Although Micheal Jackson was and still to this day under the lime light, he was also an outkast making him vunerable to slander which is why it is refreshing to read your honest opinions and thoughts. Its very rare to find a journalist who is not either trying to promote or shame their subject. Keep up the good work.
